In 2025 I started designing a lamp that uses a Tamiya Color paint can. The lamp shade is the lid, the nozzle is the on/off switch, and the lid can be closed while turned on for a candle effect. It is powered by a Li-Ion battery and can be charged via USB-C. The bottom is magnetic which is handy, and the lid can be swapped for any Tamiya Color lid to switch up the mood! I am very proud of this project so far (stillllll finalizing design). The light output is mellow, and I mostly use the lamp as an accent piece to lift some dark corners out of the shadows and add a bit of color to the space. Below are a few mediocre photos of it.
